Our Starry Night earrings are constructed from two copper disks. One disk has been enameled, first in solid black and then with a sprinkling of white enamel to create a pattern reminiscent of the night sky (perhaps a galaxy far, far away…). The smaller disk has been domed ever so slightly, and handstamped with overlapping stars and spirals. On the back, a handstamped message: one earring says “star light” and the other “star bright” (what else?). Both disks have been oxidized with liver of sulfur to bring out the handstamped detail. The two disks have been connected with a handmade, wirewrapped earwire, also in copper.

A thoughtful gift for someone who’s made a wish, or perhaps whose wish has already come true… graduation? a new job? retirement? The sky’s the limit.
